Tulip Magnolia

Tulip Magnolia

Found this great tree at a farm. It is tree-like but has blooms similar to a hibiscus. Pretty sure I have heard it called a Tulip Magnolia. Two of them flanked the entrance to the old barn, they were stunning!

Love your blog, Shelby! The above flower is a Rose of Sharon, I think. (They are considered to be a variant of hibiscus.) Had one in the backyard of the house I lived in during vet school, and it is certainly possible I was given bad info. The tulip mags have a more tulip shaped blossom, but the colors are exactly the same. Forgive me if I know not of what I speak!
