I opened my door this morning, and what a surprise to see this gorgeous sunrise! Not sure if the extreme cold has something to do with it, but I can manage the cold if I can wake up every day to this sight!
Sadly, the sunrise was gone by the time I walked up to the barn. How can something so beautiful only last a few minutes? I guess it is meant to be seen by those who notice.
As I was feeding, my most dramatic chicken Lindsay Lohan was making a scene in a window. Not sure what all the fuss was about, but hence her name IS Lindsay Lohan…….
My Dixie Chickens are all Rhode Island Reds, therefore all named after famous redheads. There is of course Lindsay Lohan who is the smallest and most dramatic, my biggest is Winona Judd, then there are Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, and Bernadette Peters. Yes, I named all my chickens……doesn’t everyone:)
It may not look like it, but ths morning when I walked up to the barn to feed it was 9, I repeat 9 whole degrees!
Look who waiting for me though! How could I be miserable when I had hungry mouths waiting?
Life doesn’t get much better when you hear a bunch of nickers and neighs calling to you. Stay warm everyone!
This is the view I get every morning! I walk up to the barn and everyone is milling about waiting for breakfast…..
With a high of 37 and a windchill of 25 today, it certainly seems that Fall is over! Even though it was cold, it was sunny and pretty so I headed outside.
Oh the sights! Some trees were still hanging on to their last leaves, before being totally naked.
Even my ruffs seemed to enjoy the cold, but pretty day. Jacket and all, for Kangaroo!
The horses were sunning (not sure how with the wind), as I tromped around the pasture. I startled them as I walked up.
Although not very exciting, it was a great day! I wouldn’t change a thing:)
